We begin with 100% organic cotton, harvested and milled without the use of harmful chemicals, according to strict global organic standards provided by the Organic Trade Association. After it is milled, the sturdy but soft upholstery weight cotton canvas is hand silk-screened on long tables, by artisans in New England. Water-based, non-toxic inks, also approved by the OTA’s fiber standards, decorate the canvas with Mod Green Pod’s signature prints. Finally, the printed fabrics are finished by a safe mechanical process, using pressure and heat in lieu of chemicals. No harmful chemicals are used in any point during production; no finishing agents (flame retardants, wrinkle removers, etc.) are ever used.

Because we choose to print our fabrics instead of dyeing them, our ground color, a warm, creamy white, pays tribute to the cotton’s natural state. Enhancing the light, neutral backdrop, bold patterns, in signature colors like Chocolate, Raspberry and Basil, appear to bloom from the canvas. The print collection’s butterflies and abstracted plant forms take cues from nature and give the patterns Mod Green Pod’s hallmark of whimsy and sophistication.
